How much to pay as customs duty for the Television in Indian airports ???

As Indian government announced the compulsory customs duty for the LED-LCD-PLASMA television the sale in this category in the GCC countries went dramatically down. No Indian customers are ready to buy the TV in any cost due to the customs issue. This effected the market and the TV manufactures and the distributors in the GCC countries are really under pressure in this situation. As per our market watch team, the sale went down by 30-40% especially in the stores which is mainly depended on the Indian customers.

The report from the Stores like #LULU hypermarkets where the most Indian customer is approaching now face this big issue in a way that never happen before. Stores also face the issue of returns and refunds from the customers who already bought and worried to carry in the flights.

It is said that 36% of the television price has to be paid as customs in Indian airports. But most of the people is confused about this. They are mainly asking that ' Is the custom duty is calculated in terms of the price of the TV in Indian market or the price of where they bought it ', ' How much would they have to pay '. But really it is already calculated and listed by the customs. Latest news heard that the customs duty for the 40" LED TV is INR 14000/-. A customer came back from India mention this to our Market watch team.
