Most of the customer used to wait for a price drop in camera,mobile and other gadgets when they arr palnning to buy. Its not a good decision to wait for a price drop or special offer. Escpecially in the high end gadgets. For the small gadgets like compact camera and low end mobiles its ok to wait for a good offer. But most of the high end gadgets will reduce their price once tge model is outdated or ehen its going to be discontinued.
In case of cameras Dslr camera price will not be reduced if that is a good model. For example Nikon D90 stuck in the same price for a couple of years because of its high demand and popularity. But if a model is not success or a flop in the market then the price will go down immediately after the launch. Same like this Canon Eos 650 first edition was a flop because of some technical issues forced the company to reduce the price immediately after the launch. But this price unstability and issues is not applicable on compact digital cameras. Becuase as per the company the share of sale is determined by the sale of compact and low-end fast-moving cameras. In last couple of years Fujifilm camera reduced one of their compact camera price to half the original price to make their share in the market more visible.
When we see the mobile market we can see the same effect. High-end models of different brands like Samsung,I-phone,Sony, Nokia, HTC etc is still in the stable in terms of price. They never try a price drop in that series for making a big sales. Because they know that the customer will buy even in the same price.
